The 3- and 4-thread coverstitch handles hems, sleeve cuffs, and necklines on stretch fabrics with a professional, finished result. The chain stitch forms a lower thread that locks into a chain on the wrong side of the fabric — strong enough for the waist and side seams of pants, and equally suited to decorative stitching on necklines.
